all that's sacred #37

I’m still getting my head screwed on straight after my trip down south and, as a result, we are making it up as we go today and catching up on some listener requests on episode #37. Lots of great suggestions and I hope you enjoy the show despite my ramblings. There’s been a bump in traffic to the site and it seems like some new listeners have discovered the podcast so I took a few minutes to address some recent questions concerning subscribing and downloading old episodes.

I also talked a bit about something new I’m exploring: All That’s Sacred swag! I created a new ATS logo for Twitter and Facebook that really seemed to resonate with people. So I decided to slap that sucker on some gear and make it available to buy. A modest royalty on each item will be donated to the charities CaringBridge and Doctors Without Borders. Please explore the site and order if interested.

Thanks for tuning in and see you next week with something a bit more realized.

Cheers! Donny

all that's sacred #36

As promised, episode #36 explores Eddie Vedder’s contributions to movie soundtracks – the most notable, of course, being Into The Wild. A few covers and collaborations and a bunch of originals comprise a solo body of work that ranges from serious and reflective to determined and whimsical. All in all, it’s a fascinating look at our favorite front man exploring new musical territory outside the framework of the band.

Next week I plan to catch up on some listener requests and suggestions as I get back into the swing of things after my brief trip back down south. I’ve already got more than enough suggested material to fill the podcast but if you have something to contribute for a future show, please contact me by email, leave a comment on the site or call the podcast voicemail at 707-SACRED9 (707-722-7339). Also, remember to check out and follow ATS on Twitter and Facebook.

Hope you enjoy #36.

Cheers! Donny

all that's sacred #35

With things so slow and quiet, I decided episode #35 was a great time to explore an idea I’ve been sitting on for a while now. We are getting in to the movie award season and it seemed like an appropriate time to revisit some of the many movie soundtrack contributions by Pearl Jam and related side projects. While some of these are in regular rotation on my iPod, there were also a few that I hadn’t listened to in years making for a fun rediscovery.

Eddie Vedder’s solo contributions to movie soundtracks are noticeably absent here. In compiling the material, I realized that there was enough there to fill a podcast by itself. So next week we are going to do just that.

I know the theme is a little easy and repetitive but the timing works well with my upcoming travel schedule. We’ll get back to some listener-suggested tunes on #37 in a couple of weeks. If you have any input in the meantime, contact me via email, Facebook, Twitter, or leave a comment on the site. Or if you’re feeling brave, holler at me on the podcast voicemail at 707-SACRED9 (707-722-7339).

Thanks so much for listening and for all the great participation and correspondence. Hope you enjoy #35.

Cheers! Donny

all that's sacred #34

Happy New Year! On episode #34, we’re kind of making it up as we go along and kicking 2010 off with some classic Pearl Jam tunes as well as getting to a few listener requests. Additionally, we touch on some of the latest news and play a few more news-related tunes. For not having a theme or outline brainstormed, I was pretty happy with how cohesive and linear the show turned out.

Thanks, as always, for tuning in. Hope you all had a great holiday and hope 2010 is good to us all. If you got a song or segment idea, please contact me via email, Facebook, Twitter, or the voicemail at 707-SACRED9 (707-722-7339).

Cheers! Donny
